Bluehorn Blanc



Our popular Bluehorn red wine soaked blue cheese was given a springtime refresh this year! For this limited-edition recipe, we soak each wheel of cave-aged blue cheese in an organic white wine vintner’s blend. This treatment accents the bright, fruity character of the cheese. Bluehorn Blanc is offered in a mini-wheel format (approx. 14oz each), ideally suited as the centerpiece on a picnic or party platter.

You May Want To Add:

APPEARANCE: Ivory, with green-blue veins of mold throughout the interior. The rind is ivory, with some grey splotching.

TEXTURE: Rich, buttery, and smooth.

TASTE: Currant, blackberry, blueberry, and brown butter, with moderate “blue” flavor.


  • Caramelized pecans stuffed with Bluehorn Blanc cheese and a honey glaze make a crowd-pleasing appetizer – one of Rogue Creamery’s favorite recipes. It shines when crumbled over stone fruits with a balsamic glaze. Because of its convenient, attractive size, Bluehorn Blue is a perfect centerpiece on a cheese platter, surrounded by nuts, fruits, and charcuterie. We particularly enjoy it with melon or honeyed pear.
  • Bluehorn Blue pairs excellently with a variety of wines, including Viognier and Riesling. We also enjoy it with dessert wine, especially Sauternes. With flavors of caramel, vanilla, and cream, wheat ales and porters will complement this cheese as well.
