Rogue Creamery 2021 Burger of the Year

In May 2021 we hosted our 1st annual Rogue Creamery Burger Showdown, asking our Instagram and Facebook followers to suggest cheeseburger recipes that use a Rogue Creamery cheese. After our team selected three finalists, our social followers then voted on the champion: this Smokey Blue cheeseburger recipe suggested by our Instagram friend @craigcouture was named the Rogue Creamery Burger of the Year!

Rogue Creamery 2021 Burger of the Year

Ingredients

Recipe for 1 burger

  • 6oz organic, grassfed ground beef (80/20 beef/fat preferred)
  • 3oz Smokey Blue cheese
  • 1 Tbsp garlic aioli
  • 2-3 strips of bacon
  • 1 Tbsp caramelized onion jam (we enjoy Divina brand)
  • Romaine lettuce, shredded finely
  • Brioche bun

 

Instructions

  1. Prepare your burger patty: gently form the beef into a circular patty roughly 3/4″ tall, being careful not to overwork. Salt and pepper both sides.
  2. Prepare your toppings: crumble the cheese, shred the lettuce, and sear bacon in a skillet.
  3. Lightly toast or grill inside surfaces of brioche bun. Slather the bottom half with caramelized onion jam, and the top with garlic aioli.
  4. Grill burger patty to your desired temperature, adding Smokey Blue crumbles immediately after flipping patty to the second side to give the cheese plenty of time to melt.
  5. Assemble your burger. From bottom up within the brioche bun: caramelized onion jam, cheeseburger patty, bacon strips, lettuce, garlic aioli.
  6. Serve immediately!
